About this spot

Renesse is a village in the province of Zeeland. It is an attractive tourist destination, offering a lot of camping grounds and hotels.

The Brouwersdam is the seventh building of the Deltaworks in the Netherlands. It completes the Brouwershavense Gat. The Grevelingenmeer was created by the completion of the six-kilometer Brouwersdam and the construction of the Grevelingendam near Brunisse.

The sea is accessible along most of the Brouwersdam, with a fine white beaches to boot. Old heritage steam trains are running along the Brouwersdam on some days of the week.

The Brouwersdam and the adjacent Kabelaarsbank area have been known as a windsurfing spots since the early 1980s. The area as a whole is popular with tourists from the Netherlands, Belgium and North Rhine-Westphalia. On the North Sea side there are also opportunities for windsurfing, kitesurfing and beach buggying. Kitesurfing is only allowed in a signposted area on this side of the dam.
