About this spot

Mahdia is a Tunisian provincial centre north of Sfax, located southeast of Monastir, north of Chebba and northeast of El Djem on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Mahdia has an important fishing port and associated fish processing industry.

The Mahdia coast is lined with long stretches of nice sandy beach with clean, pristine waters, though most are privately owned and managed by adjacent hotels. Those private beaches are clean, with beds and parasols, while the public parts tend to be crowded and rather dirty. Water sports rentals and bars abound.
