About this spot

The Maasvlakte is a man-made extension to the Europoort in Rotterdam. Starting in the 1960s, the land was reclaimed from the North Sea. The area now features container terminals and is very important for shipping and transportation in Europe. One part of the Maasflakte, the Slufter, is also popular for recreational use like kite- and windsurfing.
