About this spot

Malta International Airport (IATA: MLA, ICAO: LMML) is the only airport in Malta. While located on island of Malta, it serves all of the islands of the Maltese Archipelago. It occupies the location of the former RAF Luqa, southwest of the Maltese capital Valletta in the town of Gudja. The airport has a single passenger terminal which, replacing the old Luqa terminal which is currently mostly used for cargo in 1992.

While the airport itself has its own weather station array, the co-located Malta Airport MetOffice provides the function of a national meteorological service for Malta. Available equipment includes a Doppler Weather Radar which is augmented by automatic weather stations, of which eight are situated in Malta and Gozo.
