About this spot

Cape Arkona is a 43 metre high steep coast consisting of chalk and boulder clay on the Wittow peninsula in the north of the island of Rügen. At the cape there are two lighthouses, a bearing tower, two military bunkers, the slavic Jaromarsburg and some tourist buildings (restaurants, pubs, souvenir shops).

Because of the steep cliffs and local topography, strong currents and rather high waves are to be expected. The right wind direction and speeds are a prerequisite for surfing activities.
