What is Paragliding?

Paragliding is an adventure sport of flying a wing. The fabric wing is lightweight with no rigid structure. There is no engine as the pilot launches mostly by running off a hillside or slope or by using a winch. The pilot sits or lies below the curved wing in a harness. The wing shape is maintained by the suspension lines. The physics of the wing flying is the aerodynamic forces of the air flowing under and over the outside of the wing.
If exercised correctly, paragliding is an intense but not that dangerous sport. Experience is considered very important in paragliding.

Never miss your wind conditions again!

As the paraglider reacts to wind, the wind parameters are most important. Wind speed, gusts and the wind direction are crucial for paragliding. Severe weather, weather turbulence, wind gusts, thunderstorms, clouds, fog, rain, hail and snow are particular hazards for paragliding as they can affect the paraglider and the paraglider pilot's safety.
